Spirit of Yorkshire s Filey Bay Flagship Single Malt Whisky is a non-age statement English whisky distilled from 100% estate-grown barley sourced from co-founder Tom Mellor s family farm. The barley is mashed and fermented using chalk-filtered water from beneath the Yorkshire Wolds, then twice distilled in Forsyth copper pot stills. Aged in first-fill, ex-bourbon barrels, this whisky offers aromas of strawberry, vanilla, and nutmeg, followed by flavors of rhubarb, pear, elderflower, honey, and a subtle salinity on the palate, reflecting its coastal production. Bottled without additives or coloring at 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, Filey Bay Flagship Single Malt Whisky showcases the distillery s bourbon-matured house style, striking a balance between complexity for experienced palates and approachability for those new to single malt whiskies. The whisky was awarded Best in Class, Malt Category, at the 2023 Whiskies of the World competition.
