Most Penedès reds lean on Tempranillo and Garnacha alone — this one revives Moneu, an indigenous variety so obscure it required active rescue work to bring back into commercial production. Familia Torres farms the Castell de la Bleda estate organically, working calcareous clay soils in a maritime-influenced zone where viticulture stretches back 2,000 years archaeologically. The blend splits at fermentation: 60% goes into second-fill barrels for 10 months, while the Moneu portion ages in amphorae. Raspberry, toast, and baking spice ride fine-grained tannins with the limestone terroir delivering natural acidity and a mineral finish.
