Spiced black cherry, cedar, and dark currant open the glass, grounded by a earthy undercurrent that traces back directly to the shallow, shale-based soils of Dr. Konstantin Frank's Keuka Lake estate. Vines planted in 1974, 1997, and 1999 on 3309 rootstock grow on Keuka's southwestern slopes, where the glacially-carved Finger Lakes basin moderates winter lows and extends hang time through the cool-climate season. Certified under New York Sustainable Winegrowing, the wine delivers polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, clean finish built for the variety.
