Cabernet Franc vines planted in 1974, 1997, and 1999 on 3309 rootstock in the Keuka Lake estate's shallow, shale-based soils give this New York Sustainable Winegrowing certified red its structural backbone. The glacially-carved Finger Lakes temper the cool-climate growing season, moderating winter lows and extending hang time on Keuka's southwestern slopes. Spiced black cherry and cedar lead on the nose, with dark currant, plum, and a hint of earthiness on the palate. Polished tannins and vibrant acidity carry a long, clean finish characteristic of Finger Lakes Cabernet Franc.
