Canadian-born vintner Lia Tolaini-Banville launched Donna Laura in 2004 from Castelnuovo Berardenga in Tuscany's Chianti Classico zone, drawing on her family's Italian roots. The Ali Toscana Rosso blends 90% Sangiovese—split between the fruit-forward F9 and structured CH-20 clones—with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, grown organically and sustainably at 350 meters on south-facing limestone and clay slopes from 20-year-old vines. Fermented and aged 10 months in stainless steel, with 5% of the Cabernet matured in third-passage barriques, it delivers ripe red cherry and plum aromas, silky medium-bodied tannins, and a clean, food-friendly finish.
