Pierre Ramonet established this Chassagne estate in the late 1920s, now run by grandsons Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, who exclude fruit from vines under 18 years old and restrict yields severely to maintain concentration. Village Chassagne-Montrachet comes from limestone-rich soils that produce Burgundy's greatest white wines, vinified traditionally with extended lees contact but no bâtonnage before first racking. Aged 12-15 months in 33% new oak, this Chardonnay delivers Meyer lemon, hazelnut, wet stone, and white flowers with firm structure and mineral backbone that reflects Chassagne's earthy character—from the domaine Clive Coates calls "the equivalent of Henri Jayer or DRC in red."
