At the regional Bourgogne level, most Chardonnay is made to drink young in stainless steel — Faiveley ages this one in French oak for 8 to 10 months, a treatment typically reserved for village or premier cru bottlings. The fruit draws from clay-limestone sites across Burgundy, and the domaine is transitioning to certified organic farming across its holdings. Fermentation and aging happen in the cellars beneath Nuits-Saint-Georges, a facility Faiveley has operated for nearly two centuries. The wine delivers white peach, lemon curd, and a subtle toasted hazelnut note, with a mid-palate that stays lively and a clean, moderately long finish.
