Coteaux Bourguignons sits just below village-level Burgundy in the appellation hierarchy, but in Vincent Dureuil's hands it punches well above that ranking. His Rully estate has been organically farmed since 1994, and the Mordeloup lieu-dit contributing 10% Gamay alongside 90% Pinot Noir was planted in 1970 on clay-limestone soils that connect directly to the Côte d'Or. Destemmed, fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged 12 months in barrel with 20% new oak, then six months in stainless steel before bottling unfined and unfiltered. Bright red cherry, crushed raspberry, a whisper of violet, silky tannins.
