At 350 meters elevation, En Bertilionne is the highest terroir in Pouilly-Solutré, where Domaine du Roc des Boutires' 0.57-hectare parcel of 45-year-old Chardonnay grows on east/southeast slopes over deep chalky limestone with marl banks—the same Jurassic substratum as Côte d'Or grands crus. The 2022 vintage brought intense heat but vigorous leaf canopy protected grapes through multiple August 24-September 3 harvest passes by 60 hand-pickers, yielding 54 hl/ha in 30-liter bins.
