Châteauneuf-du-Pape's most recognizable calling card is its galets roulés — large, heat-retaining river stones blanketing sandy, clay-limestone soils that force vines deep and concentrate flavor under a Mediterranean sun. Domaine de la Mordorée, farming organically and biodynamically, draws on these conditions for 'La Dame Voyageuse,' a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Counoise, and Vaccarèse. The wine pours a deep ruby with aromas of ripe cherry, strawberry, violet, and a thread of licorice, leading to a palate with silky tannins, concentrated fruit, and a long, refined finish.
