Brothers Olivier and Bruno Bererd farm organically on the steep, decomposed pink granite slopes of Le Perréon at 450 meters elevation — terrain so severe that tractors can't navigate the 30-to-40-degree grades and all fruit is hand-harvested by pickers working at sharp angles. Their old vines average 50+ years with many exceeding 75, planted on soils that mirror neighboring cru Fleurie. Fermented with indigenous yeast and aged in tank and concrete, this 2023 Beaujolais-Villages delivers fragrant red cherry, crushed violets, and a silky mineral freshness that punches well above its appellation.
