Since 1909, Domaine Armand Rousseau has worked Gevrey-Chambertin's rockiest terroir—the monopole Clos des Ruchottes, named for the stones lining the slope's base. Two rock veins bracket this shallow, infertile plot of crumbly Bathonian oolithic limestone, while the nearby Combe Lavaux extends the growing season and delivers pronounced freshness. Fourth-generation winemaker Cyrielle Rousseau maintains traditional fermentation methods to produce this 2022 Grand Cru: a mineral-driven, delicate red with nuanced color, fine structure, and bright acidity that reflects the site's barren, stone-dominated character.
