DOM ROSSIGNOL-TRAPET CHAMBERTIN 2021

When Nicolas Rossignol and David Trapet formalized their families' joint domaine in the 1990s, they inherited parcels in some of Gevrey-Chambertin's most prestigious appellations, including a holding in Chambertin Grand Cru itself. That vineyard sits on thin Bathonian limestone over compact bedrock at the heart of the Côte de Nuits slope, concentrating the Pinot Noir into something notably denser than neighboring grands crus. The domaine farms biodynamically, and the wine is vinified with minimal intervention. Expect a saline, medium-bodied palate with pliant tannins, bitter orange, and a spiced marmalade finish.
