DOM MICHEL LAFARGE BOURGOGNE ALIGOTE RAISINS DORES 2021

Volnay's clay-limestone soils in the Côte de Beaune are the engine behind Burgundy's most compelling Aligoté, and it's from a single 0.8-hectare parcel of that terroir that Domaine Michel Lafarge produces Raisins Dorés — sourced from massal-selection vines planted in 1937. The domaine farms biodynamically, certified by both Ecocert and Demeter. Whole-cluster pressing and ambient yeast fermentation are followed by aging in used barrels for 15 to 18 months. The 2021 opens with yellow flowers and dried honey, shows good weight through the mid-palate, and finishes bright with citrus lift.
