DOM MICHEL LAFARGE BOURGOGNE ALIGOTE RAISINS DORES 2020

Bourgogne Aligoté, Burgundy's ancient workhorse white, gets its most compelling treatment in the Côte de Beaune — and Domaine Michel Lafarge's 0.8-hectare Raisins Dorés parcel is one of its benchmark examples. The vines, a massal selection from the domaine, were planted in 1937 in deep clay-limestone soil on the eastern side of the RN74. Certified organic and biodynamic under both Ecocert and Demeter, the fruit is whole-cluster pressed with ambient yeast, then aged 15–18 months in used barrels. The 2020 delivers yellow flowers, lemon pith, and waxy apple, with fine acidity and a clean, slightly bitter finish.
