DOMAINE FRANCOIS MIKULSKI MEURSAULT 'CLOS DU PRE DE MANCHE' 2023

Mikulski has farmed this 0.3-hectare parcel since his first harvest there in 2019, situated at 200 meters altitude between Volnay Santenots and Meursault Caillerets — an elevated, cooler position that delivers a tighter, more mineral style than lower-slope Meursault. The gravelly limestone soils over fissured rock strata demand deep root penetration and impose a natural mineral tension on the wine. Organically farmed 40+-year-old Chardonnay is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in barrel (20% new). Bergamot, ground cloves, nutmeg, and white peach on the nose; silky and balanced on the palate with citrus-laced acidity and a long, stone-edged finish.
