François Mikulski took over sharecropping rights to this 0.66-hectare Les Charmes parcel in 1992, and the arrangement has held long enough that the 50-plus-year-old Chardonnay vines now read as his own. Sitting on the lower slope at Meursault's southern end, the heavy clay-limestone soils over Jurassic limestone bedrock push toward the appellation's fullest, most textured style. Organically farmed, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and aged in barrel with 17% new oak, it yields roughly 3,700 bottles annually. Mirabelle honey, mimosa, and bergamot on the nose; poached white fruits, grilled hazelnuts, and white chocolate lead to a long, spice-laced finish.
