Vincent Dureuil's village Rully Blanc draws from four lieux-dits—La Martelle, Chaponnière, La Bergerie, and Le Meix Cadot—where Chardonnay vines averaging over 50 years (with the oldest planted in 1920) root into the white chalk and clay-limestone soils that define this northern Côte Chalonnaise village. Farmed organically and pressed as whole bunches, the juice ferments with indigenous yeasts and ages 12 months in barrel (20% new) followed by six months in tank, with minimal sulfur until bottling. Expect lemon curd, green apple, white peach, and crushed oyster shell with a saline cut and the textural depth that distinguishes Dureuil's whites.
Wine Advocate 90pts: "Offering up aromas of pear, toasted nuts, beeswax and white flowers, the 2023 Rully Blanc is medium-bodied, fresh and charming, with succulent acids and a gently honeyed finish."
