When Seagram's created Crown Royal in 1939 as a gift for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth's royal tour of Canada, the blend was reserved exclusively for the Crown — commercial release didn't come until 1964. It's produced in Gimli, Manitoba, where master blenders combine over 50 distinct whiskies, each aged separately in white oak barrels. The result is a lighter-bodied Canadian whisky with a silky texture, gentle vanilla sweetness, notes of dried fruit and light oak, and a smooth, clean finish.
