Continuum is Tim Mondavi's post-Robert Mondavi Winery project, built around a single estate on Pritchard Hill above Lake Hennessey — an area so intentionally remote from Napa Valley's valley floor that it functions almost as a counterstatement to mainstream Napa Cabernet. The 2014 grows on volcanic, iron-rich soils at elevation, where steep rocky terrain forces deep root systems and naturally limits yields. The blend runs 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot, and 5% Merlot, delivering crushed blueberry, blackcurrant, and violet aromatics, with dark chocolate and lavender underneath, a firm mid-palate, and a long, layered finish.
