Auxey-Duresses Premier Cru sits in a tight valley just west of Meursault, where limestone and clay soils on elevated, east-facing slopes push Pinot Noir toward red fruit brightness and firm structure rather than the broader, plush profile of the Côte de Beaune's famous villages. Comte Armand — formally Domaine des Epeneaux — added these Auxey-Duresses parcels after building its reputation around the single Pommard Clos des Epeneaux. The wine sees whole-cluster fermentation and aging in Burgundian oak, delivering sour cherry, dried rose, and iron-tinged earth on the palate with a focused, mineral finish.
