COMM G.B. BURLOTTO LANGHE FREISA 2024

Freisa is one of Piedmont's oldest indigenous grapes, genetically related to Nebbiolo yet rarely bottled on its own — making Burlotto's single-varietal Langhe DOC a deliberate act of preservation. The estate is based in Verduno, where limestone-dominant soils and a cooler microclimate within the Langhe shape wines with firm acidity and lifted aromatics. Burlotto farms sustainably, hand-harvesting fruit that is then vinified with careful attention to the grape's naturally vigorous tannins. The wine pours deep ruby with notes of sour cherry, wild raspberry, dried violets, and a hint of white pepper, finishing with refreshing tartness.
