Certified organic since the estate's modern era, Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona built its Brunello reputation on a single parcel: Pianrosso, an 11.6-hectare site at 180–240 meters on Montalcino's warm southern flank. Iron-rich, marl-laden soils give the Sangiovese a distinctly savory mineral backbone, and siblings Paolo and Lucia Bianchini age the wine three years in large-format Slavonian oak — 20 to 62 hectoliter casks — followed by eight months in bottle. Red cherry, dried strawberry, violet, and cedar lead, with velvety tannins and a spiced, lingering finish.
