DOMAINE CHAVY-MARTIN PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 2024

Alain Chavy set up on his own in 2003, taking vineyards inherited from his father when the family domaine in Puligny was divided. His village bottling pulls from eight separate climats spread over two and a half hectares of the commune’s limestone and marl slopes, so it tastes like Puligny in general rather than any one corner of it. Fermentation is inoculated, bâtonnage kept to a minimum, and aging split between 400-liter oak puncheons and 20% new Burgundian pièces. White flowers, lemon zest and toasted almond over a taut, chalky finish.
