This Saint-Julien Fourth Growth cultivates 107 hectares on hilltop gravels deposited by the Dordogne and Garonne rivers, carrying minerals from both the Massif Central and Pyrénées to create exceptional drainage along the Gironde estuary. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot benefits from alluvial soils that promote deep root penetration and concentration while moderating vigor, resulting in wines with immediate approachability despite significant aging potential. Dark fruit, leather, and licorice define the aromatics, while silky tannins and rounded texture provide structure without harshness, showing both the warmth of Saint-Julien's gravel terroir and the classic Médoc balance between power and refinement. The estate shares its commune with 11 classified growths, positioning it among Bordeaux's most concentrated quality appellations where proximity to the estuary moderates temperature extremes during ripening.
