Fresh apricot, white flowers, and a bright lemony lift open this wine, with subtle honeyed sweetness kept in check by Sauvignon Blanc's natural tension and mineral notes of hot stone and dry grass. Château Rieussec sits in Fargues, adjacent to Château d'Yquem, where cold autumn mornings pull mist off the Garonne River and encourage botrytis development on Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Carmes de Rieussec is the estate's second label, fermented in new barrels with regular lees stirring, then aged 12 months before bottling, with oak adding structure rather than overt vanilla.
