Pure black fruit and finely chiseled tannins define the 2022 Léoville Barton, a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant Saint-Julien blend with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wine was the first from the estate's new gravity-fed winery — eliminating pumps entirely — which many attribute to its notably precise, almost pixelated character. Saint-Julien's well-drained gravel soils over clay underpin the elegant, medium-bodied structure, while the finish extends with measured bitterness and persistent minerality. Vinous awarded it 97 points.
