Description of Product
Positioned on the border of St. Julien and Haut-Médoc in Cussac, Château Lanessan shares exceptional terroir with classified neighbors Gruaud Larose and Beychevelle, yet remains a hidden treasure—having never submitted samples for the 1855 classification. This 350-hectare legacy estate with 85 hectares under vine has remained in the Bouteiller family for eight generations. The 2011 vintage exemplifies classic Left Bank character, expressing the gravelly, clay-limestone soils through an elegant, multilayered nose that transitions to a beautifully structured palate where fleshy tannins support notes of blackcurrant, cedar, and graphite. The impressive length reveals earthy complexity typical of mature Haut-Médoc, delivering remarkable value compared to its more famous neighbors.
