Château La Bernède Grand Poujeaux crafts distinguished Moulis-en-Médoc wines from gravelly Garonne soils atop Grand Poujeaux's renowned hillside, where high-density plantings and meticulous canopy management yield concentrated fruit. Owned by Jean-Baptiste and Nathalie Cordonnier with guidance from legendary consultant Eric Boissenot, this Bordeaux estate blends Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot into a classic Left Bank expression. The wine reveals dark cherry and blackcurrant aromatics with hints of pencil shavings and tobacco, while velvety tannins frame flavors of ripe plum, black tea, and subtle baking spices. Eighteen months of oak aging, including partial new French barrels, adds vanilla undertones and structural elegance to this accessible yet refined Médoc.
