Château de Fieuzal's 2019 vintage benefited from early budbreak, a dry summer, and September rains that softened tannins before harvest from September 18 to October 11, with Merlot picked selectively through September 30. Located in Pessac-Léognan, the estate sits on Graves' signature gravel and clay-limestone soils that provide excellent drainage and heat retention, allowing the 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot blend to reach 13.5% alcohol with balanced acidity. Under owners Brenda and Lochlann Quinn with winemaker consultant Stephen Carrier and Thomas Duclos, this wine shows aromatic precision and rare elegance, delivering fine-grained texture, fresh energy, and enveloping mouthfeel characteristic of well-balanced Pessac-Léognan reds from moderate vintages.
