From the legendary Valle de Uco in Mendoza's high-altitude terroir, Chakana Winery crafts exceptional wines from vineyards perched at 1,100 meters above sea level, where limestone-rich sandy-loam soils and cool mountain temperatures create ideal conditions for Cabernet Franc cultivation. This family-owned estate, named after the indigenous Southern Cross constellation, has practiced certified organic and biodynamic viticulture since 2012 under winemaker Gabriel Bloise's guidance, allowing the Andean terroir to shine through minimal intervention techniques. Their Estate Selection Cabernet Franc delivers an enticing bouquet of blackcurrants and wild berries complemented by earthy crushed herbs, toasted walnuts, and mineral wet stone notes, while the palate reveals a full-bodied wine with compact tannins supporting a deep core of dark fruit that finishes plush and creamy.
