Pessac-Léognan, the only Bordeaux appellation with its own classified growths for white wine, sets the stage for Château Rieussec's dry white, made by the Domaines Barons de Rothschild team that has run the estate since 1984. The 'R' blanc is a Sauvignon Blanc-driven blend grown on the gravelly, well-drained soils that give Graves whites their characteristic tension. Barrel-aged to integrate oak without overwhelming the fruit, it delivers fresh pear, citrus, and white flower aromatics, with lively acidity carrying the palate to a clean, mineral finish.
