CASTELLO MONACI VERDECA 'PETRALUCE' 2023

Castello Monaci has operated its sustainably certified estate in Salento, Puglia's southernmost peninsula, since the 16th century, with underground rock-carved cellars that date to the property's origins. Petraluce draws on Verdeca, an indigenous Puglian variety, grown where the Adriatic and Ionian seas deliver cooling maritime influence to an otherwise hot, sun-intensive climate. Grapes are night-harvested to protect aromatics, then vinified to preserve the variety's natural freshness. The result opens with peach, jasmine, and light tropical fruit, moves through a mineral, vibrant mid-palate, and closes crisp with good length.
