Caruso & Minini's organic farming practices thrive in the Mediterranean terroir of western coastal vineyards near Marsala, where calcareous-clayey soils and constant sea breezes create ideal conditions for indigenous varietals like the rare Perricone grape. This historic winery, established in the late 1800s and now led by third-generation sisters Giovanna and Rosanna Caruso, dedicates part of their 120-hectare estate to sustainable viticulture as part of Giovanna's BIO project, respecting both tradition and environmental stewardship. Their Perricone showcases the authentic character of this nearly forgotten Sicilian variety with an ethereal personality featuring rich red fruit flavors beautifully intertwined with distinctive licorice notes that define the grape, creating remarkable versatility that pairs equally well with rustic pesto and charcuterie as it does with elegant preparations of swordfish or tuna steaks, making it a true ambassador of the island's unique winemaking heritage.
