CARM DOURO RED VINHA DO BISPADO 2023

Six organically farmed quintas under the Roboredo Madeira family, CARM works the Douro Superior around Almendra, where steep schist and granite soils combine with an extreme continental climate — scorching summers, cold nights, and under 500mm of annual rainfall — to force concentration out of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz. Vinified at Quinta das Marvalhas using vegan-certified methods, this 2023 opens with ripe dark cherry, blackberry, and violet, schist minerality running through the mid-palate, and a firm, persistent finish.
