Most kosher wine from Spain plays it safe with international varieties — Capcanes goes the opposite direction, anchoring Peraj Petita in indigenous Montsant grapes like Garnacha, Samso (Carignan), and Ull de Llebre (Tempranillo) sourced from old mountain vines. Montsant's high-elevation terroir delivers significant diurnal swings, with rocky, slate-dominant soils that push concentration without excess weight. The blend — majority Grenache with Merlot and Syrah rounding it out — shows red cherry, fresh berry, and warm spice, with structure to support food pairing and a clean, medium finish.
