CAMUS-BRUCHON SLB AUX GRANDS LIARDS VV 2021

Many of Camus-Bruchon's most compelling vines were planted just before and after World War I by Reine Joly, current owner Guillaume's great-grandmother — and Aux Grands Liards is their oldest expression of that legacy, with parcels rooted in 1913 and 1922 across a 0.52-hectare holding. The clay-limestone soils of the lieu-dit push a chalky backbone through the wine, while sustainable farming keeps the fruit clean and site-driven. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats and aged in barrel at a restrained 20% new oak, the 2021 opens with red cherry, raspberry, and a whiff of spiced plum, finishing with light spice and earthy grip.
