BRUNO CLAIR BONNES MARES 2020

When Bruno Clair left the family domaine in 1979 to establish his own label in Marsannay, he secured holdings across some of Côte de Nuits' most prestigious appellations, including a parcel in Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru. That vineyard straddles Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, where shallow limestone and brown clay soils over hard rock give the wine its grip and density. The 2020 shows tightly wound blackberry, redcurrant, and cranberry with sea spray and pine, medium-bodied on the palate with strawberry and firm tannins — a serious bottle built for a decade of cellaring.
