Fort Worth attorney-turned-distiller Markus Kypreos founded Blackland Distillery in 2019 with master distiller Ezra Cox, combining culinary artistry with high-tech iStill systems from Amsterdam to produce award-winning Texas spirits named after the state's Blackland Prairie region. This flavored whiskey blends bourbon aged in oak barrels with brown pecan and molasses-flavored sugar at 35% ABV, winning Gold at the 2023 Texas Whiskey Festival.
