The Serrano family has farmed organically and biodynamically in Rioja since 1998, now managing 70 certified biodynamic hectares between Calahorra and Andosilla where continental and Mediterranean climates converge on 30-year-old dry-farmed vines. This Garnacha Blanca undergoes extended skin contact—the defining technique of orange wine—with hand-harvesting at night to preserve freshness and on-site biodynamic preparations from homemade composts and infusions using farm animals. Winemaker Ruth de Andrés works with the newest Serrano generation to craft this skin-contact white that shows amber hues, stone fruit aromatics layered with dried apricot and almond, grippy tannins from prolonged maceration, and oxidative notes of bruised apple and hay that reflect both the biodynamic farming and the phenolic extraction from extended grape skin contact. The polyculture farming promotes vineyard biodiversity and soil regeneration, ensuring the estate's sustainability for future generations despite vintage variation challenges.
