Heaven Hill's Bernheim Distillery in Louisville—acquired from Diageo in 1999 and rebuilt as the company's primary facility after the 1996 Bardstown fire—produces the first Kentucky straight wheat whiskey made with winter wheat as its primary grain. Batch A226, the first 2026 release, blends 7–9 year-old barrels of 51% wheat, 37% corn, and 12% malted barley, bottled non-chill filtered at 124 proof in Heaven Hill's open-air rickhouses. Raspberry truffle, vanilla soft serve, and whipped cream open on the nose, with cinnamon spice rounding out a rich, dessert-forward pour.
