Launched in 2005, Bernheim Original was the first new American whiskey style introduced since Prohibition, built on soft winter wheat as its primary grain. The Shapira family's Heaven Hill—founded in Bardstown, Kentucky in 1935 and named Whisky Magazine's Distiller of the Year in both 2023 and 2024—marks the occasion with this limited release. A special selection of 10-year barrels bottled at 115 proof (57.5% ABV), it opens with cinnamon, baking spices, vanilla, and oak, followed by molasses and butterscotch on the palate, finishing with lingering pepper and warmth.
