AUSTIN HOPE CABERNET SAUVIGNON PASO ROBLES 2023

Paso Robles' eastern districts — Creston and Estrella — sit on ancient riverbeds that left calcareous stones, decomposed bedrock, and gravel through loamy alluvial soils, and Austin Hope sources its flagship Cabernet Sauvignon entirely from sustainably farmed vineyards there. Warm days, afternoon winds off the Templeton Gap, and cool nights give the fruit its structure without sacrificing ripeness. The 2023 opens with black currant, blackberry, and violet, then moves into mocha, black pepper, baking spices, and tobacco on the palate with dark fruit carrying through to the finish.
