ARDBEG 10 YR OLD

Ardbeg distills its 10 Year Old entirely on Islay using heavily peated malt, running spirit through traditional pot stills before maturing it in ex-bourbon oak casks on the island's Atlantic-facing coast. That combination of dense peat smoke and the damp, salt-laden warehouse air drives the whisky's character: coastal brine and tar up front, giving way to dark chocolate, charred vanilla, and sweet toffee, with dried fruit underneath. The finish is long, medicinal, and deeply smoky — one of the most assertively peated standard releases from any Scottish distillery.
