The Tignanello estate sits on southwest-facing calcareous clay and schist soils in the Chianti Classico hills southwest of Florence, a site that consistently produces Sangiovese with sharp acidity and structural backbone. Antinori's 2021 Tignanello blends 79% Sangiovese with 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc, aged in French and Hungarian oak barriques. In the glass: redcurrant, tea leaf, crushed white pepper, and clove up front, with the palate filling out toward licorice and dark fruit, anchored throughout by Sangiovese's characteristic bright minerality and freshness.
