Bright cherry and dried mint arrive first, followed by blood orange, blue flower, and a rusty earth undercurrent — the 2019 Tignanello's lifted aromatics reflect a growing season that saw cooling summer rains ease vine stress across Antinori's Tignanello estate in the Tuscan hills southwest of Florence. The blend is mostly Sangiovese with smaller portions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the latter's share quietly increasing in recent years. Maceration times were shortened to manage the vintage's naturally firm tannins, producing a compact, polished palate with good grip and a clean, long finish.
