ALTESINO BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2021

In 1975, Altesino became the first estate in Montalcino to bottle a single-vineyard Brunello, introducing the cru concept to a region that had no precedent for it. Owned since 2002 by the Gnudi Angelini family, the estate farms six sustainably managed parcels across the cooler northern hills on clay-limestone and galestro soils at 220–280 meters — altitude that preserves the acidity essential to long-aging Sangiovese Grosso. Fermented and aged in the traditional Brunello style, the 2021 opens with violet, wild berry, tobacco, and cocoa, then delivers a full-bodied palate with velvety tannins and a long, structured finish.
