ALTESINO BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2021

Founded in 1970 and owned since 2002 by the Gnudi Angelini family, Altesino farms six parcels across the northern hills of Montalcino — clay-limestone and galestro soils at 220–280 meters — where cooler temperatures preserve acidity in 100% Sangiovese Grosso, hand-harvested and sustainably farmed. The estate introduced the cru concept to Brunello in 1975 and pioneered barrique aging in the region in 1979. Deep ruby with a garnet rim, this Brunello opens with violet, wild berry, tobacco, chocolate, and vanilla, then delivers a rich, full-bodied, velvety palate with balanced tannins and supple finish.
