ALDO CONTERNO LANGHE QUARTETTO 2021

A short maceration of 8–10 days in stainless steel at 24–26°C keeps this Langhe blend fresh and approachable, letting the four-variety fruit speak clearly without extracting heavy tannin. The grapes — Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Syrah — come from Bussia, Aldo Conterno's cru site in Monforte d'Alba, where calcareous-clay marl soils on south-facing slopes at 250–400 meters deliver both structure and minerality. Oak aging follows the initial tank maturation. Red cherry, raspberry, dark plum, and peppery spice are threaded together by the Langhe's fog-driven diurnal swings, which preserve acidity through the long growing season.
