ALAIN GRAILLOT ST JOSEPH 2023

Maxime and Antoine Graillot carry forward the organic farming principles their father Alain established at the family domaine, extending that ethos to this St. Joseph Syrah. St. Joseph runs along the Rhône's right bank in the northern Rhône, where Syrah grows on steep, decomposed granite terraces that push the variety toward savory, mineral-driven character. Hand-harvested and fermented with whole clusters on indigenous yeasts, then aged in older oak barrels. Expect dark cherry, olive tapenade, cracked black pepper, and violet, with firm but fine tannins and a clean, granitic finish.
