Justin Willett launched Ad Ripa in 2021 as a companion label to Tyler Winery, dedicating it to Happy Canyon AVA's easternmost blocks where fog burns off by mid-morning and afternoons stay sunny and warm. The RSW bottling honors Willett's late father Rory Steven Willett, sourced from gnarly 2001 head-trained vines on Block 8's steep west-facing slope over river cobble, loam, clay, chert, and serpentine — farmed organically. Native yeast fermentation in open-top oak, two weeks on skins, and 20 months in 33% new French oak yield an unfiltered, unfined Cabernet with dark plum, graphite, rocky minerality, and structured, slow-releasing tannins.
