Freixenet is a Catalan producer with roots going back to 1861, best known for Cava — this is their move into northern Italian still wine. The Garda DOC sits between Lombardy and Veneto at the foot of the Alps, where stony, calcareous soils and a lake-moderated Mediterranean microclimate define the growing season. At 11.5% ABV, the wine is fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperature, keeping it light and precise. Pale yellow in the glass, it opens with floral and citrus aromas, delivers green apple, white peach, and pear on the palate, and finishes clean and refreshing.
